Is lithium-ion the pathway to sustainable uptime and the protection of power continuity?
The discussion on battery performance is never far from the headlines as evidenced by a new standard, NFPA 855, which is being developed by the National Fire Protection Association to regulate how lithium-ion batteries are deployed across installations providing more than 70 kilowatts (kW) of power. Whilst the standard has the potential to retrospectively disrupt mission-critical environments in all jurisdictions which have adopted NFPA standards, it is vital to keep abreast of battery chemistry developments in order to assess how standards will impact your future procurement options.
