At DCD>New York, Mark Swift, vice president of marketing at Universal Electric talks to Peter Judge, global editor, DCD about new products and the company's recent acquisition by Legrand
Universal Electric is best known for its Starline busway products. How will its business be affected by the company's recent acquisition by Legrand?
Legrand has bought other companies in the data center space, including Server Technology, Raritan and Minkels, but VP Mark Swift pointed out that these are normally run as independent businesses.
The company is working on improvements to its temperature sensors, to reveal hotspots on poor connections in busway joints in real time to reduce maintenance, and integrated IR scanners.
