Spearheaded largely by the proliferation of generative AI, taking the US economy as an example, data processing is likely to consume more electricity than the manufacturing of all energy-intensive goods combined.

As a result, power grids across the world are struggling. Compounding the issue, not only are power providers expected to meet this rapidly growing demand, they are expected to do so whilst navigating a transition to cleaner energy.

In this survey report, we seek to find out how to achieve success without negatively impacting performance, the planet or its people. This is done by examining what a symbiotic relationship between data centers and its local energy grid looks like, as well as the trends, attitudes and sentiments towards the technological shift.
