Wangda Zuo
Professor of Architectural Engineering, Penn State UniversityDr. Zuo is a full Professor in Architectural Engineering and the Associate Director for Research of Global Building Network at Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Zuo also holds a joint appointment at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory. He is currently an Associate Editor of Journal of Solar Energy Engineering and a Fellow of International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA). He is a major contributor to multiple open-source building and community energy modeling tools. He has also published more than 160 peer-reviewed papers in building energy efficiency, data center cooling, community energy system, and related field. He is the recipient of IBPSA-USA Outstanding Researcher Award and Emerging Professional Award, ASHRAE Outstanding Service Award and Exceptional Service Award.
Professor Zuo recently completed a DOE sponsored research project to develop open source tools for energy efficient data center cooling, which demonstrated up to 70% energy saving. A part of the tool has been commercialized by Schneider Electric into the EcoStruxure IT Advisor CFD.
