Shimon Katz

Co-owner and Head of engineering in DCX Critical Facilities Engineering.

Shimon Katz, born 1963 in Israel, graduated from the Technion institute of technology with B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and M.Sc. in Civil Engineering. Shimon have 35+ years of experience in data center design and operation.

Today he leads the commissioning in DCX and seeks to establish the commissioning profession and methodology in the Israeli building market and mainly in data centers.

He retired from the Israeli Defense Forces as a Lt. Colonel. Some of the positions and projects he was involved in include:

Head of Five Nines project – main DC for the IDF.

Head of ROTEM project – main DC for Bank Hapoalim

Chief Engineer in Electra M&E and Project leader for the Bank of Israel data center

Today he leads the design of several data centers.

Shimon is an Accredited Tier Designer by the Uptime Institute and QCxP from Wisconsin University.
