Saúl Varela

Saúl Varela is a Senior Mining Engineer (1998) and Expert in Energy Audits (1999) from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. With 20 years of experience in the data center sector, he began his professional career as Head of Technical Service at Liebert-Hiross (1999), a company acquired by Emerson Network Power. Two years was enough for him in 2001 to position himself as CEO of Maclin and later Climate Control of Technical Environments, known in the sector as "cliAtec-360º Data Center", a company dedicated to the execution of construction projects of Data Centers, which has achieved such important milestones as the construction of the latest generation Data Center in: Colegio de Arquitectos de Madrid, Tyco Fire & Security, UNED, Abanca, JCDecaux, Iberdrola, as well as the cooling system facilities in IBM's Data Centers, Telvent-Equinix, Vodafone, Ericsson, among others.

Always at the forefront, included in the select group of DCPro instructors and carrying out important energy saving projects in: Universidad Autónoma, UPM, Fundación Juan March, Grupo CESCE, and the supercomputing centers of Madrid and Castilla León. A long etcetera of renowned projects makes Saúl Varela a renowned engineer in the Spanish sector of the Data Center and whose work has been awarded by the EMEA DatacenterDynamics AWARDS 2014 in the category of Innovation in the Micro Data Center with the project SummuS Render.
