Sami Holopainen

Managing Director Finland & Acting MD Sweden, Equinix

Sami Holopainen is Managing Director of Equinix Finland and Acting MD for Equinix Sweden. He was appointed as General Manager of TelecityGroup Finland in early 2015, which was acquired by Equinix in January of 2016. Before this, Sami was the founding partner and CEO of Tenue Oy for six years, from 2006 through to its acquisition by TelecityGroup in 2012.

Sami has over 20 years’ experience in ISP and data center businesses. He is known as an industry leader in the market, having been instrumental in a firm that was one of the first movers in managed data center services in Finland. Since 2012 Sami has been successfully growing Equinix’s presence in Finland, connecting Western European markets to Russia, the Baltic region and Asia.

Sami holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems from the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, Finland.
