Ricardo de Azevedo is CTO and Co-Founder of ON.energy, leading the technology vision behind the company’s patented controls and power platforms that enable gigawatt-scale deployments. He is responsible for the design and development of AI UPS™, a medium-voltage UPS built to sit between grid and compute as a dynamic power layer for AI workloads. Ricardo also leads the architecture and delivery of ON.command™, the real-time intelligence layer that forecasts, dispatches, and controls energy assets with real-time commands and redundant, fault-tolerant operation. His work spans advanced automation, grid-forming capability, and system-level resilience, translating volatile load behavior into predictable power quality for mission-critical sites. His background blends engineering depth with commercial fluency, shaped by roles at Goldman Sachs and Barclays and entrepreneurial experience. He holds a BS from Rice University and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Florida International University where he specialized in microgrid and energy storage control systems.
