Mr. MacDonald has over 30 years of broad investment, corporate development and restructuring experience across a number of industries, in both public and private businesses of all sizes, in both management and family owned enterprises. Previously co-managing up to $4.5bn of private growth and leveraged investments, Mr. MacDonald has specific expertise in building management teams to create value through general strategy formulation and execution, mergers and acquisitions, human and financial resource allocation, governance and board effectiveness. Mr. MacDonald’s recent focus has been value creation in smaller higher growth businesses, identify outstanding managers and strategic businesses.

Mr. MacDonald is currently a member of the Board of the Banff Centre Foundation and Vive Crop Protection Inc., and previously served on numerous other Boards in Canada, the U.S. and the Caribbean. As well, Mr. MacDonald has previously served on the Finance Committees of the Royal Ontario Museum and Equity Showcase Theatre (not-for-profit organizations). Mr. MacDonald holds a BA (’79) (Honours, Economics) from Queen’s University and an MBA (’82) from Schulich School of Business, York University.
