David Moss
Vice Chair, IT Subcommittee, ASHRAE & Distinguished Engineer, Data Center Power/Cooling, DellDavid L Moss (Dave) serves as the data center cooling strategist within Dell’s product group. He serves to link data center cooling strategies amongst the various stakeholders within Dell (product engineering, Dell IT, professional services). He is directly responsible for articulating Dell strategies and opinions on facility cooling products. He is an active member in the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers. His activities within this organization are primarily within the technical committee that focuses on IT space, TC9.9; and he currently is the Vice Chair of the IT Subcommittee. He has also contributed to content in the Green Grid’s thermal management subcommittee. Dave has held this position since the early 2000’s and currently works within the Office of the CTO.
Previously, Dave was a concept Architect for server product engineering. In this capacity, he performed front end design and analysis to shape the early stages of Dell server products. Dave spent the 1990’s as lead engineer on various Dell server and notebook platforms. He has worked at Dell for over 30 years and holds over thirty patents, most in the area of thermal engineering. Prior to Dell, he held various engineering and small group management positions at Texas Instruments in their airborne radar division.
