Anne Currie

Lecturer - Tech Ethics, University of Hertfordshire

Anne Currie has been in the technology industry for over 25 years as an engineer, manager, Head of IT, and startup founder. She has worked on a range of tech from c servers in the 90’s to e-commerce in the 00’s and cutting edge infra tech in the 10’s. In 2018, she helped to launch the Sustainable Servers campaign to help the tech industry move to 100% sustainably-powered hosting by 2024.

In 2020, she developed a new open source Tech Ethics curriculum for University of Hertfordshire for their MSc Computer Science course, supported by Container Solutions. Today, she is a tech writer and speaker, frequently writing for The Register, InfoQ and TheNewStack. She also helps run CoedCode, which is designed to promote diversity in tech through equal participation of women and other tech minorities.
