VISA Europe formed a team to upgrade resilience at its primary data center. Each team member had their own responsibilities while close interaction with the other members was crucial to achieve the team’s common objective – project completion with no operational impact.

This was aided by the team’s combined technical expertise and in-depth knowledge, which by working together achieved the business objectives for this project.

The success of Project Torch was achieved through meticulous planning, detailed risk analysis and review,together with robust contingency and fall-back plans. This was demonstrable to Visa’s senior management and major stakeholders, which embodied trust and a sanction to continue with the necessary works.

The team developed and operated extensive processes and procedures including extensive risk workshops, walking through of critical activities and frequent Go/No-Go meetings, to mitigate risk and had effective back up plans that were successfully deployed.

The team successfully managed a broad range of stakeholders across the client business and through effective exceptional communications and risk management provided suffi cient knowledge and comfort to secure approval at each critical stage of the project. It successfully balanced sustainability, risk, cost and stakeholder expectations.
