Vodafone Italy’s CEO and group chief commercial officer Aldo Bisio is set to leave the company ahead of its sale to Swisscom, effective from November 15.
Earlier this year, Vodafone announced it had sold its Italian business to Swisscom for €8 billion ($8.7bn). The deal is expected to complete in the first half of 2025.
Until then, Bisio will stay on at Vodafone Italy as a non-executive director and Vodafone Italy’s current CFO Sabrina Casalta will be Bisio’s interim replacement.
Bisio has been CEO of Vodafone Italy for more than a decade. Previously, he served as the CEO and managing director of heating and manufacturing firm Ariston Group.
Casalta has worked at Vodafone for 12 years, spending the last two as CFO and the year before that as head of Vodafone business commercial operations.
Margherita Della Valle, CEO of Vodafone Group, said: “I want to thank Aldo for his immense contribution to both our business in Italy, over many years, and the wider Vodafone Group.
“In Italy, despite challenging market conditions, Vodafone has completed successfully under Aldo’s leadership and developed a number of innovations adopted in our other markets.”
