Cloud solutions company Virtustream has acquired privately held advanced security and compliance technology firm ViewTrust Technology.

The acquisition closed on 4 February 2013. Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The company said as a result of the acquisition it will expand its software portfolio, enhance its Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) services and that the ViewTrust capabilities will be further embedded in its xStream cloud management software.

It will continue to distribute ViewTrust's Analytics and Continuous Monitoring Engine (ACE) platform, as well as its ComplyVision, ThreatVision, LogVision, and AssetVision software solutions.

ViewTrust’s CEO Kaus Phaltankar said the company was “excited” about the move.

“By combining our technologies, Virtustream and ViewTrust will be even more capable of assisting customers in meeting risk management requirements for the enterprise and cloud deployments, as well as managing and complying with a wide variety of complex regulatory compliance reporting requirements,” Phaltankar said.
