Vertiv is expanding its manufacturing facility in Slovakia, giving it more capacity to produce data center power and cooling equipment.

The company plans to add an additional 22,000 sqm (236,806 sq ft) to its Nové Mesto nad Váhom campus, located in western Slovakia near the border with Czechia.

Set to be carried out over the next two years, the expansion will increase production capacity for power, switchgear, and thermal management technologies, including advanced liquid cooling and power solutions designed for high-density AI and high-performance computing applications, Vertiv said.

“As AI and other critical digital applications increase in the region, we continue to invest in our manufacturing capabilities across EMEA,” said Paul Ryan, president of Vertiv in EMEA.

“The expansion of Nové Mesto nad Váhom will enhance our ability to support customers deploying increasingly critical digital infrastructure while further strengthening our capabilities for next-generation AI and high-performance computing applications... this investment further strengthens Vertiv’s ability to help bring critical power and cooling capacity online faster and at scale.”

According to Vertiv, the project will create “hundreds” of new jobs across manufacturing, engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, technical, and leadership functions between 2027-2029

Vertiv, which has seen demand for its products rocket during the AI data center boom, also operates manufacturing facilities in Croatia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, and the US.
