Verizon has been hit by a network outage that has impacted its customers nationwide.

Users across have reported problems with the network, with many reporting that their phones have gone into SOS mode.

According to Downdetector, reports of outages peaked at around 11:22am ET, with more than 104,000 people reporting issues with the service.

Even at 1:30pm, around 60,000 people are still reporting issues.

The carrier has acknowledged the outage, and said it was working to restore services.

"We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue," said the carrier on X, at 11:48am.

The cause of the outage is not yet known.

The telco is currently working to restore services across a number of states, in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

Verizon suffered from an outage in November of last year, lasting for a few hours.
