Unisys Corp. has sold its data center campus outside Minneapolis, Minnesota, to a local developer.

As BizJournal reports, citing local property records, local real estate firm Swervo Development Corp. has purchased the 32-acre site at 3199 Pilot Knob Road in Eagan.

Swervo affiliate Eagan Capital LLC acquired the site for $10 million, according to a public real estate filing with the Minnesota Department of Revenue, in a deal that closed on November 14.

Built in 1986, the Dakota County campus was first put up for sale in September 2023. Public filings suggest Unisys would lease the building for two months following the sale.

A Baxtel entry lists the two-story building as featuring 118,000 sq ft (10,963 sqm) of raised floor. A LoopNet lease listing suggests the site totals 248,480 sq ft (23,085 sqm). The data center site was expanded in 2007.

Woodbury Capital LLC, the registered agent for Eagan Capital LLC in a Minnesota Secretary of State filing, intends to fill the property with multiple data center tenants, according to documents. Woodbury Capital is also affiliated with the local data center operator called Irongate Data Centers, which is led by Swervo president Ned Abdul.

Within Minneapolis, Irongate lists data centers at 401 and 500 Bielenberg Drive in Woodbury, as well as 110 North First Street. In Michigan, it lists 28201 Van Dyke Avenue in Detroit.

Unisys was formed in 1986 through the merger of mainframe corporations Sperry and Burroughs. Headquartered in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, today the company offers a range of technology consulting and service offerings.

The Eagan site was built after the Sperry/Burroughs merger to consolidate the two companies’ operations in the area.
