Thai data center firm True IDC has broken ground on a data center development outside Bangkok.

The company this week announced work had begun on a hyperscale data center development in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). The site will support up to 250MW at full build-out. The first phase is due to be ready for service by 2027.

"As the leading data center and cloud service provider for 23 years, True IDC recognizes that organizations still require digital infrastructure that delivers speed," said Thanasorn Jaidee, president of True IDC. "However, in today’s world, agility alone is not enough; it must be coupled with proactive security in every situation. We are committed to making this data center a vital engine in driving the Security Economy alongside the Digital Economy—creating technological independence, protecting critical national data, and ensuring that both public and private sector systems can operate without interruption."

True IDC, part of True Corporation and owned by the Charoen Pokphand Group, bills itself as Thailand’s largest data center and cloud service provider. Global Infrastructure Partners invested in the company in May 2025. Telenor sold its stake in True Corp earlier this year to Arise Digital Technology.

The firm operates data centers in Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam. According to its website, its Thai data centers are located in North Muangthong, East Bangna, Midtown Ratchada, and Midtown Pattanakarn.

In October 2025, it was revealed that Microsoft would move into the data center as part of its Thailand cloud region.
