“The partnership with TowerCo is a creative and complementary way to further diversify and enhance the income streams generated by each of our properties,” said Gary Wojtaszek, chief camper & founder of RecNation.

Founded as Recreational Realty by the former CEO of data center firm CyrusOne in 2020, RecNation acquires, builds, and manages specialized RV and boat storage facilities across the US.

Wojtaszek added that the aim for the company is to expand to 350 sites across the country.

The company has since grown its footprint to 57 locations across six states; Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.

TowerCo owns and operates more than 10,000 tower, land, and rooftop assets across the country.

Prior to RecNation, Wojtaszek built a reputation in the data center industry after growing CyrusOne from a regional data center provider valued at $525 million into a global provider purchased by KKR and Global infrastructure partners for a record $15 billion. Wojtaszek stepped down as CEO in February 2020, prior to CyrusOne's acquisition.

"Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in," he joked in a LinkedIn post announcing the partnership.
