The company last week officially opened its newly renovated data center in the Oklahoma state capital.

Set on four acres, the 65,000 sq ft (6,040 sqm) facility was renovated to transition from a single-client environment to a multi-client one, deploying a minimum of 2.5MW of critical IT load with expansion capabilities up to 12MW.

“Our mission is to provide the absolute best data center solutions in emerging markets like Oklahoma City and we’re proud to officially open this state-of-the-art facility,” said Mike DeVito, chief commercial officer at Tonaquint. “In addition to providing the digital infrastructure that will enable commerce to thrive, we are also thrilled to be a part of this vibrant community.”

Tonaquint acquired the data center, located on Newcastle Road and originally owned by Devon Energy, in late 2023 when the company purchased EdgeX Data Centers.

“Having lived and worked in this community for many years, I’m proud to be a part of this kind of technological advancement for Oklahoma City,” said Terry Morrison, chief operating officer and CTO, Tonaquint. “This state-of-the-art data facility is one of this region’s most future-forward and resilient data centers.”

Tonaquint was founded in 2008 in Utah as a subsidiary of local developer Kay H. Traveller; DIF Capital Partners acquired the company at the start of 2023.

The company also offers services from facilities in St. George, Utah, and Boise, Idaho. Tonaquint entered Boise in 2020 with the acquisition of Fiberpipe Data Centers.
