Thor Equities has pinched Google's former head of data center acquisitions, Raj Vohra, to lead its data center division as executive vice president.

Vohra has been tasked with building upon Thor's growth in the data center sector, presumably via its data center company Form8tion.

“[Vohra] has experienced the incredible growth of the data center sector over the past decade and can skillfully lead us in assembling a strong portfolio of state-of-the-art campuses across the Americas,” said Thor COO Melissa Gliatt.

Vohra worked at Deloitte Consulting, before heading to Google where he helped the cloud giant expand its data center portfolio by over 2GW.

Thor Equities made its first move in the data center sector with the groundbreaking of a 24MW data center in Madrid, Spain, through its newly formed data center company, Form8tion. That data center can be expanded to 100MW in the long term.

Thor Equities has not explicitly stated how much investment it intends to put toward data centers in the near term, though it notes that demand has gone well beyond available supply.

Thor Equities is based in New York City, and invests in "innovative" businesses and property. The company was founded by Joseph Sitt.
