US-based colocation and interconnection services provider Telx is adding 15,000 sq ft of raised floor to one of its data centers in the New York metro area.
The facility at 100 Delawanna Ave. in Clifton, New Jersey, provides power desities up to 200 watts per 1sq ft and access to a multitude of carriers. It also provides direct access to customers in other Telx locations, such as 60 Hudson and 111 8th Ave. in New York City and 300 Boulevard East in Weehawken, New Jersey.
This is the second expansion in this location, which Telx originally brought online in 2009.
Telx CEO Eric Shepcaro said in a statement the company was adding raised-floor space in New Jersey to provide customers with room to grow and to take advantage of new opportunities. "We are also finalizing plans for an even larger expansion in the New York/New Jersey metro area due to customer demand."
The region is known for its presence of many financial-services companies ÔÇô a market Telx has focused a lot of energy and resources to play in. Some of the financial-exchange networks the company's Clifton facility provides access to are SFTI, BATS and ARCA among others.
Other connectivity providers available at the site include AboveNet, Direct Edge and Lightower.
