Telx is adding a new data center at 32 Avenue of the Americas in New York City, which will be the 20th location in the company's overall portfolio and its third one in New York.

The company signed a deal with Rudin Management to exclusively manage and operate the carrier-neutral meet-me room in the building, which is one of the city's major carrier hotels. Telx will also develop a new data center on the building's 10tgh floor, with the opportunity for expansion onto multiple additional floors.

Telx's new site will leverage dense connectivity environments at its other New York City data centers at 60 Hudson and 111 8th Ave. The company also has a massive data center campus in Clifton, NJ.

The agreement establishes an initial 72,000 sq ft with additional opportunity for growth, according to Telx.

Chris Downie, president and CFO for Telx, said, “We are thrilled to partner with the Rudin Family as a trusted New York owner on this exciting expansion and look forward to working together to provide high-level service to the global market and countless service providers and enterprises within the greater New York City metro area.”

Telx’s interactive marketplace will incorporate Rudin’s existing 32 Avenue of the Americas community.

CBRE represented Telx on the transaction. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
