Private equity firm TA Associates has completed acquisition of the data center services firm CoSentry from McCarthy Capital and WaittCorp Investments, both Omaha organizations.
Omaha-based CoSentry operates data centers in Nebraska, Missouri and South Dakota, providing a range of services, from colocation and managed services to virtual servers.
TA did not disclose financial terms of the transaction but said it partnered with CoSentry management on the acquisition. Harry Taylor, principal at TA, said CoSentry fell within TA's requirements for investment-ready businesses.
“As a profitable and rapidly growing technology company with a seasoned management team, CoSentry is precisely the type of business in which TA seeks to invest,” he said. “CoSentry has been repeatedly recognized as one of the country’s fastest growing Internet infrastructure businesses.”
CoSentry president and CEO Michael Steffan said TA had a reputation as a successful investor and the acquisition was a “validation” of CoSentry's business model and “prospects for continued success.” TA has invested in a number of businesses in the telecommunications and software sectors, including AboveNet, McAfee and MetroPCS.
