Andy Bechtolsheim, a co founder of Sun Microsystems has jumped ship to start-up Arista Networks.
The company sells big network switchs for the data center. Google is a client.
In a statement, Bechtolsheim said: "The new era of cloud computing requires fundamental improvements in capacity, latency and cost performance over existing enterprise network solutions. Arista is developing highly scalable, reliable and cost-effective cloud networking solutions for large-scale Web and enterprise data centers to address these requirements."
The switches the firm is selling hope to exploit its expertise in 10GB Ethernet, a standard Bechtolsheim predicted would take over enterprise networking.
