SpaceX subsidiary Starlink has signed an agreement to provide airline carrier Emirates with its in-flight WiFi service.

It's the latest such agreement announced by Starlink, which notably signed a similar deal with British Airways last week.

Emirates will deploy Starlink's WiFi across its entire in-service fleet, kicking off with the Boeing 777 aircraft this month. The airline carrier expects to complete the full rollout by mid-2027.

In total, 232 aircraft will have Starlink's WiFi installed, while Emirates has already equipped its first aircraft with Starlink on A6-EPF, the Boeing 777-300ER currently on display at the Dubai Airshow this week.

Emirates expects to fit out approximately 14 aircraft with Starlink per month, with installation on the Airbus A380 fleet commencing in February 2026.

According to Emirates, two antennae will be installed on each Boeing 777 aircraft, and an industry-first three antennae on each Airbus A380.

Reports this week have also suggested that Singapore Airlines is close to announcing a partnership to offer similar services on its aircraft.

SatNews reports that Singapore Airlines has confirmed it will begin offering LEO (Low Earth Orbit) in-flight connectivity soon. Although the company didn't specify the name of the provider, numerous media outlets have reported it's likely Starlink.

The same publication reports that Virgin Atlantic has chosen Starlink for its Boeing 787s, Airbus A350s, and A330neos aircraft from Q3 2026. The installations will be complete by the end of 2027. Virgin Atlantic confirmed earlier this year that it had signed a connectivity deal with Starlink.

At present, Starlink has around 8,900 satellites in orbit. Starlink claims that its in-flight WiFi offers latency of less than 99ms, and speeds of up to 500Mbps.

SpaceX set up a dedicated division for its in-flight connectivity service in 2022 called Starlink Aviation.

Starlink already has other in-flight connectivity agreements in place, including with United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Air France. The company is also nearing a deal to provide its in-flight Internet service for Saudi Airlines.

Several other airlines, including airBaltic, Zipair Tokyo, and JSX, have also chosen Starlink Aviation. JSX’s entire Embraer ERJ fleet is already fitted with the system.
