Spanish Internet provider Sarenet is developing a new data center outside Bilbao.
The new facility, located in the Zamudio Technology Park in the Derio area of Bizkaia, will be operational by the end of this year.
The €20 million ($22.6m) facility will total 1,000 sqm (10,765 sq ft) and offer 3MW of capacity. Able to host up to 340 racks, it will include an on-site solar deployment.
Entering its 30th year, the company said the new facility will be its ninth data center overall, and third within this technology park.
The Basque company has three data centers in Madrid, two in Barcelona (one within the BitNAP facility recently sold by Cellnex to Templus), one in Valencia, and two in Bilbao.
