Data center developer Soluna has signed a two-year hosting agreement with crypto mining service provider Blockware.
Under the terms of the deal, Soluna will take delivery of 1,500 of Blockware’s latest S21+ crypto mining machines and host them at its Project Dorothy 2 data center in Texas.
The deployed machines went live on April 21 and are expected to hit an initial target of 5MW. Once operations fully ramp up, Blockware expects its mining stack to equate to 250 PHps to 350 PHps of crypto mining draw.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Blockware to Project Dorothy 2,” said John Belizaire, CEO of Soluna Holdings. “This new partnership underscores the value of our renewable-powered data centers for Bitcoin mining. It also strengthens our pipeline of stable, high-quality customers who align with our vision for renewable computing."
Mason Jappa, CEO of Blockware, added: “This partnership with Soluna advances Blockware's mission to bring more hashrate to the United States."
“Bitcoin mining is one of the most important industries of the 21st century, and we are committed to partnering with the best operators in the industry to deliver world-class hosting solutions and access to low-cost power,” added Jappa.
Atlas Cloud is also a customer of Dorothy 2 via Soluna's cloud offering.
This week, Soluna expanded its array of data center sites with the addition of Project Ellen - a new 100MW property located in South Texas. Project Ellen is named after Ellen Ochoa, the first Hispanic woman to travel to space and a trailblazer in aerospace engineering.
Soluna also recently acquired two additional parcels of land in Texas for its Project Kati, which will host 166MW of Bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence (AI) facilities.
In addition to Ellen and Kati, the company operates or is developing several other campuses in Texas, including the 187MW Project Rosa site; the 50MW Dorothy I A and B, as well as the 48MW Dorothy II; and the 2MW Grace site.
