US Cryptomining and data center developer Soluna has acquired full ownership of its Project Dorothy 1A site in Texas following the buyout of Spring Lane Capital’s remaining stake for $16.5 million.
Following the deal, Soluna now holds a 100 percent stake in the Silverton facility. The overall site comprises two data centers, Dorothy 1A and 1B, which combined have a capacity of 50MW. According to the company’s website, they are used for Bitcoin hosting and mining. Both facilities are operational.
The deal closely follows the acquisition of the 150MW Briscoe Wind Farm, located near the data center sites. The onshore facility powers both sites directly.
Soluna said full ownership of Dorothy 1A allows it to shift the site’s strategy toward AI computing and accelerate development of future phases. The company has a third operational data center on the site, Dorothy 2, which has a capacity of 48MW, as well as another planned facility, which is expected to have a capacity of 300MW.
According to the firm, it is also exploring ownership consolidation across the wider campus, including Dorothy 1B and Dorothy 2, while considering new equity partners for upcoming builds.
“Spring Lane Capital was the right partner for the first chapter of Dorothy,” said John Belizaire, CEO of Soluna. “With Briscoe secured and Dorothy 1A now fully owned, we have the foundation for what comes next: a vertically integrated AI campus, from energy generation to compute infrastructure, that we control end to end. That control is what gives us an accelerated path to power for AI customers.”
The transaction was structured with an initial $6m payment and a deferred balance due in July 2026. Soluna financed part of the deal through a $12m unsecured promissory note maturing in 2027.
According to the company, the Dorothy campus is expected to transition to AI as its primary workload over the medium term, with the company pivoting away from Bitcoin mining towards AI. The company said its pipeline now exceeds 4.3GW across multiple sites, with newer developments such as Kati 2 and Grace already aligned to AI-focused deployments.
Soluna is a cryptocurrency mining firm that utilizes renewable energy projects as its primary power source. The company has a total operational capacity of 123MW and 11 data center sites in various stages of development.
This includes the 187MW Project Rosa site in Texas; the 50MW Dorothy I A and B, as well as 48MW Dorothy II, again in Texas; Project Sophie, a 25MW data center in Kentucky; and the 2MW Grace site in Texas.
