Siemens Gamesa has selected the Secure I.T. Environments ModCel containerized data center design for its manufacturing facility in Hull, the UK.
The ModCel data center will support production systems and communications at the site, which manufactures renewable energy equipment, including wind turbines.
The containerized data center is designed for the environment at the manufacturing site which is dock-based along the Humber estuary. It contains two 48U 1,200mm deep cabinets, four PDUs with a rackmount UPS in each cabinet, and is cooled via four externally mounted downflow AirSys Unicool AHU units.
"Our ModCel data center designs are raising the bar on what customers can expect from a containerized data center facility," said Chris Wellfair, projects director of Secure I.T. Environments.
"Whether a unit to provide redundancy, meet temporary needs, work in harsh environments or support mission-critical applications, a Secure I.T. Environments ModCel data center can meet any challenge."
Secure I.T. Environments specializes in the design and build of modular, containerized, and micro data centers, including mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
Earlier this year, Secure I.T. Environments delivered a 42U micro data center to Barnet Hospital's intensive care unit. The company also provided similar containerized micro data centers for Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and Johnson Service Group, in 2021 and 2022 respectively, and has delivered data center modules to Proximity Data Centres' Nottingham facility.
