Modular data center firm Secure I.T. Environments (SITE) has completed upgrades for three data centers at a UK transportation firm.
The transportation firm, which has not been named, has undergone mechanical, electrical, and cooling upgrades on three of its data centers.
The work saw a phased installation of new cooling solutions in Data Center A, with three GEA Multi-DENCO DX air conditioning units.
In Data Centers B and C, new cable management racks were installed with Data Center B receiving new 60-minute fire rated panels to divide the facility into two.
The UPS from Data Center B was moved to Data Center A, and the former received an upgrade to a multi power rack with 84kVA N+1 power and five battery strings.
The existing generator was decommissioned and replaced with a Kohler D275 275kVA generator.
SITE will also provide on-going maintenance for the three data centers.
Chris Wellfair, projects director at SITE, said: “Today’s transport and supply chain infrastructures are always connected, working around the clock to ensure that goods reach companies and consumers across the country. Keeping the mission-critical data centers running to support this key industry is vital, but they also need to be maintained. Our expertise in managing mission-critical data center environments ensured these upgrades were successful and will ensure operations are as energy efficient as possible going forward.”
UK-based SITE specializes in the build and installation of modular and micro data centers for private, healthcare, education, and government sectors.
The company delivered a micro data center to Barnet Hospital’s ICU last June and upgraded the NHS data center in the Isle of Wight in July this year. More recently, the company upgraded the data center at the NHS Royal Free Hospital in London.
The company has provided similar containerized micro data centers for Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and Johnson Service Group, in 2021 and 2022 respectively.
SITE has also provided data center modules for Proximity Data Centres at the company’s Nottingham facility. In 2019, the Thurrock County Council received a 234 sqm (2,500 sq ft) facility for £560,000 ($719,000 at the time).
