Schneider Electric rolled out a new three-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS) called Galaxy VM, integrated with the company's energy management solutions.

Pedro Robredo, VP of secure power at Schneider, said the product represented the company's best, embodying 45 years of power protection design as well as encorporating latest energy efficiency technologies. “Facility and IT managers can count on Calaxy VM to work with existing systems, while helping drive business results by reducing energy consumption and its related cost,” he said.

When operating in “ECOnversion” mode, the UPS offers 99% energy efficiency. The feature combines input harmonic correction, double conversion online and ECO mode technologies.

The UPS features swappable battery modules and fans which can be removed without needing to switch to maintenance bypass, as has been customary with UPS systems.

It can be integrated in existing monitoring environments and works with Schneider's data center infrastructure management (DCIM) applications called StruxureWare, as well as with building management systems (BMS) and the Modbus protocol.

For ease of installation, Schneider included options for top and bottom cable entry and casters for mobility.
