Schneider Electric is partnering with Stratus Technologies and Avnet Integrated to develop micro data center modules for the Edge.

The three companies have developed an 'EcoStruxure Micro Data Center with Stratus ftServer,' factory assembled to customer requirements by global technology distributor and solutions provider Avnet.

The Stratus ftServer includes two servers managed as one, with the platform consisting of hardware and software. Stratus Technologies is unrelated to Stratus Data Centres.

"The EcoStruxure Micro Data Center with Stratus ftServer delivers the reliability, efficiency, rugged protection, and zero-touch operation required by the automation industry," Greg Hookings, director of bsiness development EMEA at Stratus Technologies, said.

The EcoStruxure Micro Data Center with Stratus ftServer is available in 6U, 12U or 42U. It will be pre-loaded with software, including Schneider's Aveva system platform.
