US-based IT infrastructure and cloud solutions provider Peak 10 has been selected by open source technology solutions vendor Red Hat to provide a colocation site for its IT, networking and engineering environments.
Red Hat is utilizing Peak 10’s data center infrastructure to help maintain the availability and security of these three environments, in which the testing, management and delivery of its open source solutions take place for customers around the world.
To help support the technologies Red Hat delivers to its customers, Peak 10 also supplies the company with a private test lab for its Research and Development team, where it tests applications prior to their release.
“Moving significant parts of our IT infrastructure to Peak 10 to support our global service delivery made its team an extension of our team, allowing us to concentrate on our core competencies and scale our business more rapidly,” Lee Congdon, CIO of Red Hat, said.
“Peak 10 collaborated with us to design a solution that best fits our needs. By outsourcing to Peak 10, we have already experienced efficiencies and cost savings that we expect will have a positive impact on our bottom line.”
Peak 10 serves as one of the hubs for Red Hat’s Americas IT network. Data and applications from Red Hat’s US data centers feed into Peak 10’s facility, which plugs directly into Red Hat’s global network of data centers.
Peak 10 said it is currently expanding its data center space in its Raleigh, North Carolina to accommodate the IT needs of new and existing customers.
In addition to Raleigh, Peak 10 operates data centers in nine other markets in the US, serving customers around the world.
