A recently freed prisoner climbed up a radio tower in the Philippines because he feared for his life.
The unnamed man, who was released from Cebu City Jail earlier this week, climbed a radio tower in Sitio Tugas, Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City, yesterday (June 5) around midday.
As reported by local publication Sun Star, the man was then rescued six hours later by The Cebu City Fire Station and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.
The man, who works as a porter, was arrested six months ago for illegal possession of a firearm.
He reportedly feared going back to his home said his partner, claiming that his neighbors had threatened to kill him and set their house on fire.
His partner said that he's used illegal drugs, though it's not known if he used them at the time of the incident.
It's not known if the man caused any damage to the telco tower or how tall the tower was that he climbed.
