Rapidswitch, a UK provider of dedicated hosting services, said on Friday it would expand one of its data centers. The company is adding two new data halls, totaling 7,000 sq ft of space, in its Maidenhead, UK, facility.
The provider expects the expansion to improve performance for existing customers and meet demand from potential new ones. Rapidswitch plans to complete the project by December. "It is really exciting news about the data centre expansion, as it highlights the company's progress over the last few years and shows how we are committed to meeting the needs of our customers," a Rapidswitch spokesperson said in a statement.
In its most recent overview of the European data center market, real-estate broker firm CB Richard Ellis noted that there had been encouraging signs for market growth during the year
