RagingWire, a Sacramento, California-based data center services provider, has added an option for unlimited remote hands and eyes to its portfolio of services.

Customers that sign up for the service do not need to hire own staff for routine or urgent tasks for their IT infrastructure deployed in one of RagingWire’s data centers. It can save cost on employee travel and reduce the response time in urgent situations.

Bill Dougherty, VP of IT at RagingWire, said customers deploying IT systems at the company’s Ashburn, Virginia, facility or its Sacramento data center, will not need to worry about remoteness of these sites from major cities.

“Our team is typically at a customer's gear within 15 minutes and serves as an extension of their IT team – without the commute, headache, or costs associated with deploying company resources,” he said.

Remote-hands services include visual equipment checks, replacing hardware components, cycling power, customer-directed diagnostics procedures and loading physical media like tapes and CDs. Customers can also schedule the more time-consuming tasks, such as installations, upgrades, configuring, inventory and labeling, and basic rack-and-stack.

RagingWire has a total of about 650,000 sq ft of data center space. Its Ashburn data center is the most recent addition to its portfolio.

The company announced the launch of its east-coast data center in August. This is a 150,000 sq ft facility with 21MW of power available to its customers.
