Chinese provider of internet and mobile solutions Qihoo 360 Technology has deployed Juniper’s QFabric network technology at its recently built data center.
Qihoo 360 deployed Juniper’s QFX3000-G QFabric System the vendor built for large enterprises, service providers and data centers supporting cloud environments. This is the first site in China to deploy QFabric.
The customer supports more than 435m users with PC-based security solutions, 120 mobile security users and more than 720m users of its web-browser product. Most of its users are in China.
The company needs massive scalability to grow and compete in the Chinese search-engine market. QFabric, according to Juniper, gives it the ability to support more than 6,100GbE ports on a single data center network.
Tan Xiaosheng, VP of Qihoo 360, said the solution satisfied the company’s business demands and was a good fit for its vision of future growth.
“It fully meets our need for low latency performance and scalability, together with ease of deployment, operations and maintenance, which result in a low total cost-of-ownership,” Xiaosheng said.
As part of the deal, the company also deployed Juniper’s Ex3300 Ethernet switches to serve as a 1GbE access layer to connect its servers to the network. To provide control-plane access to the net5work and support connections to multiple Internet service providers, Qihoo 360 also deployed Juniper’s EX4200 Ethernet switches.
Finally, the company bought Juniper’s MX960 3D Universal Edge Routers to support content synchronization between its new and older data centers.
