As a result of reportedly "unprecedented demand for the company's offerings," i/o Data Centers has began building out Phase 2 of its Phoenix One data center in Phoenix, Ariz., two years ahead of schedule, according to a company statement.
i/o, a Phoenix-based colocation provider, began construction of Phoenix One's first phase in February and held an opening ceremony in June. The phase - 180,000 square feet of raised floor and 20 MW of power - is quickly reaching full occupancy. Phase 2 will have the same space and power capacity as Phase 1.
Back-up generation capacity for each phase will be 36 MW. The company is also increasing the capacity of its on-site substation to 123 MVA.
