APAC data center firm Princeton Digital Group (PDG) has broken ground on a new facility in Mumbai, India.
“PDG has commenced construction of its MU2 data center campus in Mumbai, following a recent groundbreaking ceremony,” the company announced this week on LinkedIn.
PDG acquired land for MU2 in March. Located on 10 acres in Navi Mumbai, the five-story facility will offer 120MW of IT capacity across 18,880 sqm (203,220 sq ft) of colocation space.
Headquartered in Singapore, PDG was founded in 2017. The operator has presence and operations in Singapore, Japan, India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, and South Korea. It is also actively exploring development opportunities in Australia.
PDG’s MU1 campus is located within a 50-acre park in Airoli, Navi Mumbai. Announced in 2021, the first two buildings at the site are live with a combined capacity of 50MW. The first facility on the campus was delivered in Q4 2022, while the second went live last year. The first phase of a 100MW expansion is currently under construction, and will take the campus to five buildings.
The company is also planning a 72MW, three-building data center campus in Chennai, and has acquired land in Hyderabad for a 90MW campus.
Private equity firm Warburg Pincus is PDG’s largest shareholder. The company is also backed by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, the UAE’s Mubadala, and Stonepeak.
