Oracle is expanding its AI offerings for its US government cloud regions.

The company will deploy Nvidia B300 GPUs in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure government regions, enabling LLM inference and training within the secure region.

Big Red is also planning to offer xAI's Grok and Nvidia Nemotron models and to bring its AI Data Platform to the regions.

In September 2020, Oracle revealed it would be installing Government Cloud Regions in the US to be operated by the US Intelligence Community and Department of Defense, dubbed "National Security Regions."

The company currently lists five US government regions - US Gov East in Ashburn, Virginia; US Gov West in Phoenix, Arizona; US DoD East in Ashburn; US DoD North in Chicago, Illinois; and US DoD West in Phoenix.

Alongside the announcement to expand AI infrastructure in these regions, Oracle has also launched a "Defense Industrial Base Isolated Cloud Environment," which it describes as a secure isolated cloud deployment option that enables contractors to collaborate within air-gapped cloud environments.

The isolated region will enable users to meet security standards and classification protocols, and to expand existing on-prem infrastructure into OCI.

“The Defense Industrial Base Isolated Cloud Environment represents our unwavering commitment to both the Department of War and its partners who develop the combat systems that protect our nation and support our warfighters worldwide,” said Kim Lynch, executive vice president, Government, Defense & Intelligence, Oracle.

“The ability for multiple defense contractors to collaborate securely on classified programs is essential to maintaining US technological superiority during this time of increased strategic competition.”

The offering is currently undergoing security evaluation and expects to get provisional authorization to operate at the Secret classification level by summer 2026, with Top Secret authorization to follow.

In July 2025, Oracle offered government agencies a 75 percent discount on its software, databases, and analytics, as well as a “substantial” discount on cloud computing services. The company secured an $88.1m cloud contract from the US Air Force earlier this year.

Oracle also offers government regions in the UK and Australia.
