NovaStor, developer of backup and restore software, has updated its enterprise network solution NovaBACKUP DataCenter.
Release 5.2 of the software provides greater flexibility in securing both physical and virtual IT environments with one software solution, the company said.
NovaStor CEO Stefan Utzinger said, “NovaStor ensures that all of our business clients' technologies are supported for reliable backup and restore.”
An expanded feature set awards a new level of convenience to network administrators. Among new capabilities are tools geared toward VMware environments.
Granular Item Recovery for VMware, provides backup and restore of individual files to and from VMware virtual machines. VMware-optimized Media Pools enable users to select specific items from VM backups and dictate their restore location of choice in a single step.
The solution supports Microsoft's latest Windows Server 2012 R2 operating system and VMware's vSphere 5.5 hypervizor. Microsoft SQL 2014 and Exchange 2013 backup and restore are included as standard functionality.
Physical machines can be managed with the software centrally together with multiple types of virtual machines, including Windows, Linux, VMware and Hyper-V. It offers network-wide updates.
Administrators select which systems should be modified and launch updates. Other steps taken to simplify administrative tasks include extensive automation for Data Availability Groups in Microsoft Exchange for database-level recovery from failures.
