Nigeria’s Kasi Cloud Datacenters has opened the first phase of its planned 100MW facility.

Kasi LOS1 is the first building at the campus to come online. DCD has contacted Kasi about the IT capacity provided by this specific building.

Located in the Maiyuegun Area of Lekki near the country’s capital, Lagos, Kasi first broke ground on the four hectare campus in April 2022.

It was reported at the time that the data center was backed by an investment totaling $250 million. The Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority – a state-owned body that manages the country’s sovereign wealth funds – was among the data center’s investors.

Kasi has said that the facility will be powered by gas, solar, and battery storage, aiming for a PUE of less than 1.6.

The company is currently developing another data center in Eket, a city in southern Nigeria. Little is known about this facility.

Most of Nigeria’s data centers are clustered around Lagos. Other operators with a footprint in the city include Equinix, Digital Realty, MTN, and Rack Centre.
