European AI cloud provider Nebul is expanding its footprint into Belgium.
The company has contracted its second data center location, at Datacenter United's campus in Machelen, Belgium.
The site will host a new ‘SuperCluster’ comprised of more than 1,000 liquid-cooled Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs in GB300 NVL72 systems, to be supplied by Lenovo.
“This is a defining moment for Europe’s ambitions in AI,” said Arnold Juffer, CEO of Nebul.
“Organizations want to amplify what they can achieve without giving up control over the intelligence they build. The demand is there, and it is larger than the capacity Europe is building today. With more than 1,000 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs as a part of GB300 NVL72 rack-scale systems in Belgium, and Datacenter United, Lenovo and Nvidia as partners, we are delivering on that demand. And this Belgium deployment is a next step.”
Nebul is a European private AI cloud provider based in Leiden, South Holland.
Via its AI cloud, Nebul offers Nvidia platforms, including DGX, HGX, OVX, and RTX, with GPUs including B300, B200, H200, H100, L40S, and L4. The neocloud raised €20 million ($22.7m) in a June 2024 funding round.
Earlier this year, the firm announced it would be the first cloud platform to offer Speedata's Analytics Processing Units (APUs).
Datacenter United, founded in 2010, currently operates 14 data centers across 12 locations in Belgium. TINC acquired a 75 percent equity interest in Datacenter United in 2020, with Cordiant (since rebranded Corilis) taking a stake in the firm in 2024.
“Europe’s AI ambitions depend on more than computing power alone. They require reliable, high-density infrastructure that can support the next generation of AI workloads,” said Friso Haringsma, CEO of Datacenter United.
“Nebul’s decision to establish its new SuperCluster in Machelen demonstrates that Belgium has a meaningful role to play in Europe’s AI development. By providing the power, connectivity and advanced liquid-cooling infrastructure required for this deployment, we are helping turn those ambitions into reality.”
