Motorola Solutions Canada has announced it will acquire Bell Canada's land mobile radio networks services business from Bell Mobility for CA$675 million (US$487m).

Bell Mobility is Bell's wireless subsidiary that provides wireless services across Canada.

In the announcement, Bell noted that the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.

Motorola Solutions provides safety and security products and services. One of the company's key offerings covers critical communications land mobile radio (LMR) devices and networks.

These services cover person-to-person voice communication system consisting of two-way radio transceivers, which can be stationary (base station units), mobile (installed in vehicles), or portable (handheld transceivers).

Bell notes that it has been working with Motorola Solutions Canada for more than 30 years to provide land mobile radio communications for customers across the country.

The carrier said it will still work closely with Motorola Solutions Canada as an important service delivery partner for land mobile radio networks.
