Modular data center operator BluSky AI will lease five acres of land in Oklahoma for a facility.
The company has executed a letter of intent to deploy its seventh data center project in Mulhall, Oklahoma, for a period of 10 years with two optional five-year extensions.
Mulhall is a town located north of Oklahoma City, which is one of the state's densest data center clusters.
The facility's lease structure will see BluSky AI pay an initial base rent of $4,000 per month, with an additional $2,500 per megawatt per month up to 16.3MW. Any extra capacity secured beyond this point will incur a cheaper rate of $1,000 MW per month.
BluSky AI, not to be confused with social media service Bluesky, was previously a mining company known as Inception Mining before rebranding as a modular data center company in April. The company then debuted its first data center a month later, signing an acquisition and power assignment agreement with Digital Asset Management LLC, a Wyoming-based infrastructure partner also owned by BluSky’s CEO.
It previously operated the Clavo Rico gold mine in Honduras, which it has divested to Mother Lode Mining.
In September, BluSky executed another letter of intent to deploy a modular facility in Juab County, Utah. The company has also secured land for development in Milford, Utah; Wells, Nevada; and Huerfano County, Colorado.
CEO D’Ambrosio was previously involved with a company known as RackScale Data Centers, but it’s unclear if any data centers were ever delivered.
