Meta has signed an 80MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with New York-based renewable firm MN8 Energy tied to a solar project in Juniata County, Pennsylvania.

The PPA, which is the first between the two companies, will see Meta purchase 100 percent of the capacity from MN8’s 80MW Walker Solar Project. The project will continue delivering power into the local grid, with Meta using the offtake to support its efforts in matching 100 percent of its operations with renewable or low-carbon energy capacity.

The project is currently under development and is slated for completion at the end of this year.

Meta is a major purchaser of renewable power and signed a number of PPAs this year to cover its energy consumption.

Earlier this month, the company inked a 176MWdc (136MWac) contract with Zelestra for a solar project in Anderson, Texas. The project is expected to begin delivering energy to the grid in May of next year.

Last month, the company signed a PPA with Origis Energy to offtake power from a solar plant in West Odessa, Texas.

At the end of last year, the company signed 11 PPAs with NextEra Energy for up to 2.5GW of power across the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Southwest Power Pool, and the Midcontinent Independent System Operator markets.

Earlier this week, the company was recognized by BloombergNEF as one of the biggest corporate purchasers of renewable and low-carbon energy over 2025.

MN8 Energy is an independent renewable and battery energy storage developer. The company has approximately 4GW of operational and under-construction solar projects as well as around 1.1GWh of battery storage.
