LG CNS is installing a direct-to-chip (DTC) cooling system at its Samsong Data Center in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

According to The Korea Herald, the liquid cooling system will support Naver Cloud's planned deployment of Nvidia Vera Rubin AI compute systems at the data center.

The AI infrastructure is owned by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT.

Naver Cloud signed on to lease capacity at the data center in April, in a colocation agreement valued at 603.4 billion won ($441 million) over a ten-year period, though it is susceptible to change based on factors such as inflation.

It was that same month that LG CNS took over the operations of the Samsong data center, which is owned by Igis Asset Management. LG CNS constructed the data center for Igis, starting in August 2023, and began the second phase of the 80MW data center in December 2025. It is split into two blocks, one with 50MW and the other with 30MW.

The DTC deployment is LG CNS' first liquid cooling system and is expected to become one of the largest of its kind in South Korea.

"Working with Naver Cloud, we will continue building core infrastructure that supports the growth of South Korea's AI ecosystem, drawing on LG CNS's data center design, build, and operations capabilities and next-generation cooling technology," said Jo Heon-hyeok, executive vice president of LG CNS's data center business division.

Naver Cloud has also previously signed on for capacity at the LG CNS-operated Jukjeon Data Center in Seoul, South Korea, and has its own "Gak" data center. In June 2026, the cloud company said it would be expanding its AI infrastructure in South Korea with 55MW of Nvidia hardware.

Naver currently lists six cloud regions in South Korea, as well as one each in Japan, Germany, Singapore, and the US (West Coast). It is also planning future regions in the US (East Coast), Vietnam, Taiwan, and Thailand, and is expanding into the Middle East and North Africa.
