Legrand has launched a new version of its Starline Series-S Track Busway.

The power distribution system builds on the existing Starline S Track Busway features, adding an IP54 ingress-protection rating, meaning it is splashproof and dust-resistant.

The new busway can therefore be used in a wider variety of environments, including those that are wet, dusty or debris-contaminated, have sprinkler systems that cannot be removed, or outdoor applications if necessary.

The busway is available in five and 10-foot sections, with custom lengths available on request. It can function in 100 to 1,200 amp systems and is rated up to 600VAC or 600VDC.

The power distribution system is also designed with aluminum housing with corrosion-resistant coating.

According to Data Bridge Market research, the busway market is expected to reach a value of $3.5 billion by 2028 with a cumulative annual growth rate of 8.6 percent.

Starline was acquired by Legrand in 2019 and focuses on the design and development of track busway designs. Legrand as a wider company specializes in electrical and digital building infrastructure, reporting sales of $8.8bn in 2022. The company also acquired Server Technology in 2017, and in 2022 acquired Power Control, Usystems, and Voltadis.
