Legrand has acquired a busbar company in Canada.

Terms of the deal were not shared.

Founded in 2006 and based in Toronto, Power Bus Way is a specialist in Cable Bus power busbars, primarily for data centers.

The company employs more than 120 people and generates an annual revenue of around €70 million ($73.5m), mainly in the United States and Canada.

Power Bus’ website says the company has connected more than 5GW of power across 4,000 systems. It operates a 71,000 sq ft manufacturing site.

Headquartered in Limoges, France, Legrand is a French industrial group. The company currently operates in 90 countries with its offerings including electrical equipment and digital building infrastructure.

The acquisition is Legrand’s fifth buy this year in the data center segment, following Netrack in India, Davenham in Ireland, Vass in Australia, and UPSistemas in Colombia.

Benoît Coquart, CEO of Legrand, said: "Today we are announcing the 8th external growth operation of the year, with a cumulative annualized revenue of nearly €410 million ($430.78m), and Legrand's first acquisition in North America in the data center grey space. These acquisitions are a great illustration of our medium-term growth ambitions, both in essential building infrastructures and in offers related to the energy and digital transition."
